Canada or Nigeria?

I apologize for the tardy reply.

Not really a legal issue. I am technically illegal (expired visa) but that
never stopped me from working. I actually paid my college tuition by working
full-time and then some.

If it is legal green card/visa/work permit issue, the country has millions
of illegal immigrants. No reason you can't be one of them.
I concur. But surviving as an illegal requires constant employment due to
lack of benefits. Usually not a problem until this recession. Friend of mine
voluntarily left for Mexico early this year due to lack of work.
Wouldn't you be equally illegal in Canada?

Yes. And I don't know a soul there, so my first stop would be a shelter of
some kind.

But I'd rather earn minimum wage for the rest of my life than make millions
of dollars in Nigeria by actively directly supporting death squads against
unions and having religous maniacs for neighbors. Where do you think the
underwear bomber (*Umar Abdul Mutallab) *hails from?

I went to high school (King's College Lagos) with guys like that for crying
out loud.

Where are you in the US?
24 Suffolk St Chelsea, East Boston MA 02150. Rather close to Revere Beach.
Lotsa bikini eye candy.
I'd suggest sticking it out here, because getting deported back to Nigeria
will always be an option, won't it?
I agree. But the inability to secure employment (first incidence of this in
7 years here) is dictating my options.

Deporting you just may not be a priority even if you walked into an
immigration office with a sign saying you are in the country illegally.

With the contemporary political climate I disagree. The way I see it there
are three avenues this scenario can travel:

A: I march up to an immigration office or police station, all like.. yo.
what it is?

B: With my backpack (relax no incugrous underwear) I sneak into Canada.
Immigration there is less inconvenient. No "Arizona laws" or E-verify.

C: I get on my kness and pray. This option is about as pragmatic as a
gyrating raindance in my living room. Unless praying proves to be an
adequate source of income...

I am grateful for your replies and wuold appreciate any suggestions.
Unlucky whore for a wage slavery system,
Vee
