Maybe not so ironically named if we remember the battle between
Stirner and his contemporaries. His opponents were all speaking in
the name of exalted Reason, the faculty seemed to be the sole ruler
on high and whose commands were always in the form of maxims, general
staments. Generel moral rules. Kant's "Pure, Practical Reason" in all
so many guises.

On the other side of the debate was Stirner, who promoted the
particular and concrete versus the generalities of Reason. He
stretched out his particular and concrete legs and let out a
particular and concrete yawn in response to the generalities of
Reason, and that was indeed enough to lay the matter dead. This is
what Stirner called "egoism". It's not by a far cry the Randian
"egoism", or any kind of "Randian egoism run amuck without a morality
to check it", but is rather a far different and healthier beast not
related to "Randian egoism" at all.

To quote our common demiurge on the matter of atheists and morality:

Our atheists are pious people indeed.
