This is a mailing list for the members of the Kokoro Tao Martial Arts Film Club -- for announcement of and invitations to events and activities. Esthetics: A poetry of motion, contrasts, seasons and more. What some might call a poetics of impermanence, informed by Asian philosophical traditions. Spirit: A particular kind of unity of philosophical and spiritual concepts and values expressed by characters and actions. We organize film screenings and meetings, and exchange tips, recommendations, questions and answers. The name of the film club is made by combining a Japanese word (kokoro) and a Chinese word (tao). This is deliberate, as we do not want to limit ourselves to one nation, culture or tradition, while at the same time we also wish to acknowledge that the esthetical, philosophical and spiritual styles and directions that concern us have been most consistently explored and expressed in certain Asian cultures. Subscribing to kokoro-tao
Subscribe to kokoro-tao by filling out the following form. You will be sent email requesting confirmation, to prevent others from gratuitously subscribing you. Once confirmation is received, your request will be held for approval by the list moderator. You will be notified of the moderator's decision by email.
